The American Association of Birth Centers defines Birth Centers as being distinguished by people [patients and professionals creating family-centered care], place [a home-like environment for birth], a program of care [giving folks the time they deserve in order to empower them in the process of birth], and the practice of midwifery [creating a safe, holistic, and meaningful birth experience] as part of the healthcare system[a network of supporting actors including specialists, hospitals, doulas, and more!].
While we do not actually birth at Family to Family at this time, we strive to fulfill the criteria set forth by the AABC.
